This wine is from United States California region Napa County sub-region and Napa Valley appellation. 2010 was the first vintage produced entirely from estate vineyards – Cuttings Wharf Milton Road and Foster Road – in the cool-climate Carneros district of southern Napa Valley. These prime sites are planted to six distinctive high-quality clones of Chardonnay. The grapes were night harvested and whole-cluster pressed and the juice was inoculated with cultured and native yeast strains to foster greater complexity and a refreshing minerality. The juice was then fermented 35% in new French oak barrels. Due to its perfect natural balance it did not undergo malolactic fermentation. 15 months of barrel aging on its lees with periodic stirring further refined its round creamy texture vibrant varietally expressive aromas and rich concentrated flavors.. This wine shows creamy yeasty butterscotch ripe peach and yellow apple fruit aromas with nutmeg and cinnamon spice notes from the aging in French oak barrels. With full-bodied round rich and creamy-lush apple peach and creme brulee flavors on the palate the wine displays refreshing mineral traces and a long lively finish with bright acidity and a hint of citrus zest. This structured sumptuous wine should age for another 5-7 years in bottle.. Pair with salmon swordfish veal and light pork bouillabaisse or cream bisques.
