Some 1995 GM vehicles have a diagnostic port shaped like and OBDII port but it does not have the same functionality and will not work with this conversion kit. The Powerstep with Plug-and-Play uses the On Board Diagnostic OBDII port to connect the controls of the Powerstep to the computer system of the vehicle.The estimated installation time reductionis a minimum of 90 minutes. GM and RAM Kits will use the controller originally included with your Powersteps. Ford kits come with a compatible controller. The Plug-N-Play Conversion kit does not eliminate all hard wiring necessary for installation. It does eliminate removing the door panels to wire in the on/off switches that tell the system the door is opened or closed. Lastly if the OBDII port is already in use there is an optionalextra cost Pass-Through Harness that allowsaccess to the OBD Port while the Powersteps are connected.
