Tequila Extra Anejo extra or ultra aged is a new classification added in the summer of 2006 labeling any Tequila aged more than 3 years an “Ultra Aged”. Hailing from the exceptional La Cofradia distillery a blend of tequilas aged between three and five years packaged in a traditional hand-painted talavera bottle that is a gift unto itself. Ultra rich but not overpowered by oak this is a real gem for tequila connoisseurs. Extremely silky with a definite cognac presence and a nice chocolate/caramel smoothness that gives only the slightest burst of agave. Exceptionally dark and rich even for an XA. Exceptional!
