Made in India the yarn is locally dyed in the traditional vat dying method. Before the first wash the back of each rug is mildly burnt with hand-held flame-emitting stoves. The rugs are given two rounds of rigorous washing to provide the softest comfort underfoot. The finishing process includes hand shearing with a unique and exaggerated one-sided tassel fringe. Each tassel is twisted and rolled by hand into bunches with a knot tied at each end for a unique hand-crafted appeal.
