The classic Brut Champagne from Billecart-Salmon with great balance and a pleasantly rounded cool texture. And it’s even better in this wonderful magnum bottle! Billecart-Salmon was founded in 1818 by Nicolas Franois Billecart and Elisabeth Salmon in the village of Mareuil-Sur-Ay. The estate has been in the family’s hands since then and is currently run by the 6th generation of Franois and Antoine Roland-Billecart. The family owns 100 hectares of vines and buys grapes from over 220 hectares of vineyards in Montagne de Reims Valle de la Marne and Cte des Blancs. This makes them a Ngotiant-Manipulant vs a Rcoltant-Manipulant or a producer who buys grapes as opposed to a “grower producerwho only makes Champagne from the vineyards they own. Billecart has reached a level of worldwide demand with the likes of Cristal and Dom Perignon most notably with their Brut Ros. This Brut doesn’t get as much attention as its Rose counterpart but it is a lovely Champagne every bit as worthy as the sumptuous pink version.
