Patagonia Springsuit made from 85 % Yulex natural rubber The Patagonia R1 Lite Yulex is made of 85 % natural rubber and 15 % synthetic rubber in the polymer portion. This plant-based material instead of petroleum has the performance of conventional stretch neoprene but produces around 80 % less CO2 emissions. The material has a Forest Stewardship Council certificate from the Rainforest Alliance. An admixture of chlorine-free synthetic rubber increases the ozone and UV resistance so that it meets Patagonia’s high demands for robustness and durability. Its material is 2 mm thick throughout with an elastic quick-drying lining made of 100 % recycled polyester. The outer material consists of 88 % recycled polyester and 12 % elastane. The outer fabric and lining are now jet-dyed saving 86 % of water per wetsuit compared to traditional dyeing and laminated with AquaA water-based adhesive that contains no harmful solvents VOCs. The vertical front zip makes it easy to get in and out while flat seams optimise comfort.
