Aberlour Whiskey 18 was launched just for general consumption in 2008 before it had only produced for the French market. The distillery was founded in 1879 by James Fleming who was determined to build on the site of the mill St Drostan to ensure uninterrupted supply of pure water. When the journalist Alfred Barnard visited Aberlour in 1880 as part of its comprehensive review of Scottish whiskey distilleries he described the new distillery James Fleming as “a perfect modern distillery.View In view it presented with an amber gold color with red ruby reflections. Nose The nose is rich and complex with notes of toffee and caramel combine with ripe peach and bitter orange. Mouth In the mouth it has initial notes of soft apricot cream offset by oak flavors and old leather with a touch of honey.
