A true P90 tone that is a drop-in replacement for any standard sized humbucker slot. No routing required. You get all of the authentic neck position bounce and sparkle that youd expect from a vintage Gibson P90 Soapbar. Chords have lots of rich harmonics and solos have that unique single coil springiness. It uses two Alnico 2 bar magnets for more sustain and softer attack. And the metal covers provide more shielding and noise reduction than standard soapbar covers. The neck model is RWRP reverse wind reverse polarity from the bridge pickup to provide noiseless operation when used together. Pair with the Phat Cat bridge model for a complete set or combine with a humbucker in the bridge position for greater tonal variety. Hand built in Santa Barbara CA the Phat Cat uses dual alnico 2 bar magnets custom nickel or gold cover nickel silver bottom plate and single-conductor braided hookup wire. Vacuum wax potted for squeal free operation.
