One of the fiberglass-reinforced nylon jaws remains fixed while the moving jaw travels on steel guide rods adjusted with a thumbwheel in the aluminum jig body to span up to 7″. Easy-to-read cursors on the upper jaw surfaces can be aligned with reference marks on your stock to set mortise length.
